Our first girls’ hockey team participated in the Merensky Hockey Festival from 30 March to 2 April at Merensky Landbou Akademie in Tzaneen, where they showcased outstanding hockey skills and true team spirit.
Throughout the tournament, our girls stood out on the field with confidence and determination, achieving impressive victories. The results speak for themselves:
Won 4–0 against Hoërskool Driehoek
Won 6–0 against Hoërskool Riebeeckrand
Won 2–0 against Hoërskool Marais Viljoen
Won 6–0 against Hoërskool Pionier
Won 6–0 against Hoërskool Florida
These excellent results confirm the hard work invested at the start of the season, as well as the team’s commitment to excellence both on and off the field. The players proudly represented our school and demonstrated that teamwork, discipline, and passion are the keys to success.
A particular highlight of the festival was that seven of our learners were selected for an Invitational Team touring to the Netherlands - a great honour that reflects their talent and potential on an international level. These learners are Christi Patricio, Monya van Niekerk, Jaydéne Cloete, Suné Lessing, Isabel Aguinaga, Francia Meiring, and Edunette Kriel.
We are incredibly proud of every player and coach who was part of this remarkable week in Tzaneen. This success is not only a victory on the field, but also a celebration of dedication and growth.
