2013:	Number 3 among the top 10 schools in Limpopo with 74% matriculants obtaining university exemption
2014:	Fourth group of matriculants who take Electrical Technology as a subject
2015:	Number 1 among the top 10 schools in Limpopo with 86.1% matriculants obtaining university exemption
2016:	Number 1 among the top 10 schools in Limpopo with 78% matriculants obtaining university exemption
2017:	Number 1 among the top 10 schools in Limpopo with 70% matriculants obtaining university exemption
2018:	Fourth best learner in Limpopo, Best learner in IT, English First Additional Language and Mechanical Technology. Top CAT School in Sekhukhune District
2019:	Third on the ranking in Limpopo with regards to bachelor’s exemption
2020:	Fourth best learner in Limpopo, learner with the best performance in Mechanical Technology for Welding, third on the ranking in Limpopo
2021:	We were named number 1 in the category 'Top Performing School' during 2021 and also won the award for the number 1 position in the category 'School that performed best in the past three years (2019-2021) in Quintile 4- 5 '. We also achieved a 2nd place in the category 'Best Achievement in Quality Accounting during 2021' as well as a 2nd place in the category 'Best Performing School' in terms of learners who were registered for the matric exam and passed with bachelor's degree exemption during 2021
2022:	Marné Kruger was named the learner who excelled in Mathematical Literacy during the first term of 2022 while Morgan Maeyane was named the best athlete from 2018-2022. Chanelle Smith received the award for the best learner during term 1 of 2022 as well as for the best achievement in Afrikaans Home Language. Marice Geyser received the award for the best achievement in CAT during term 1 of 2022 while Christian Booysen received the best achievement in EGD. Malope Malatsi received the best achievement in Hospitality while Pierre de Waal received the award for the best achievement in Technical Mathematics
2023:	Nine of our staff members was awarded as best teacher in their respective subject areas: Ms Iea Meyer - Afrikaans First Additional Language, Ms Anneke Snyman - Afrikaans Home Language, Ms Marelize Barnard - Computer Application Technology, Ms Christelle Nieman - Consumer Studies, Mr Johan Cronje - Electrical Technology, Ms Hannelie Erasmus - English Home Language, Ms Marianda van Jaarsveld - Information Technology, Mr Thinus Marais - Mechanical Technology and Ms Mareli de Klerk - Visual Art. We are also proud of Pabalelo Kgolane and Kai Gerber, who respectively occupy second and third place in the district based on their grade 11 final exam marks. Hoërskool Ben Viljoen also took second place in the district with 78% of our matriculants from 2023 obtaining Bachelor's degree admission.
2024:	Seven of our staff members walked away with the award as best teacher in their respective subject areas: Ms Hannelie Erasmus - English Home Language, Ms Iea Meyer - Afrikaans First Additional Language, Mr Johan Cronje - Electrical Technology, Ms Marianda van Jaarsveld - Computer Applications Technology and Information Technology, Ms Rina Greyling - Afrikaans Home Language, Mr Rudi Viljoen - Agricultural Technology and Mr Thinus Marais - Mechanical Technology. We also boast Rorisang Masemola, Kyra Hancke and Legoadi Nkadimeng who respectively occupied the top three places in the Groblersdal district based on their final grade 11 examination marks.
2025:	Rorisang Masemola and Aneesha Mathew have been invited to the SAICA FASSET Development Camp. We are incredibly proud to announce that the following staff members have received awards in the circuit, in relation to the 2024 NSC Examination results: Ms Comien Booyse - Accounting - First place, Ms Sanel Griesel and Ms Christine Coetzee - Mathematics - Second place, Ms Anrelene Smit - Tourism - First place, Ms Christel Durie - Technical Mathematics - First place, Ms Menanteau Roos - English First Additional Language - Second place, Ms Marianda van Jaarsveld - Information Technology - First place, Ms Rina Greyling - Afrikaans Home Language - First place, Ms Christelle Nieman - Consumer Studies - Third place, Ms Marianda van Jaarsveld and Ms Marelize Wessels - Computer Applications Technology - First place and Ms Hannelie Erasmus - English Home Language - First place

 

GENERAL ACHIEVEMENTS:

• Two thirds of the matric learners take Mathematics as a subject - one of the highest percentages in Limpopo. The mathematics and science departments are among the best in Limpopo based on matric results.
• Full-time, dedicated Mathematics remedial teachers for Grade 8 and 9 learners struggling with Mathematics. These teachers work individually with ± 3 learners at a time at no extra cost.
• Hoërskool Ben Viljoen is one of the few public high schools in Limpopo with Drama and Visual Arts as a subject.
• Hoërskool Ben Viljoen is registered as a full-fledged Technical School with Mechanical and Electrical Technology as subjects.
