Being able to spell is a skill that can take you far in life. With the annual Spelling Bee, learners are encouraged to pay much more attention to the use of Afrikaans and English and not just use SMS language!
All the learners in the school write a spelling test whose words vary from grade to grade. The top learners during this test go on to the Spelling Bee as this event is known.
This competition usually takes place during the first term and the top three learners in the respective sections each receive a prize.
The competition is divided into Afrikaans and English, junior and senior, where these learners compete against each other to be the best speller in the category.
