Hoërskool Ben Viljoen is one of the few public high schools in Limpopo that offers Drama and Visual Arts as subjects.
The purpose of Visual Arts is to introduce learners to the world of art. Attempts are made to stimulate their creative imagination so that they can see and respond to the world around them. The subject represents a wide field that involves the hand, the eye, the intellect, the emotional life and the imagination in the conceptualisation and formation of a product. The subject Visual Arts unlocks an exciting world of creation and personal discovery.
Dramatic Arts encourage learners to express themselves freely and live out their passion for acting. Drama helps promote the learner's self-confidence, communication ability and stimulates their brain waves, which are beneficial for the learner's future.

- Kabous de Wet was among the top 20 with his portrayal of Umfaan for the Afrikaans.com competition
 
- Kabous de Wet received silver for his text 'Die Ontsnapping' and Chanté van Aswegen received a silver for her text 'My kop in die verkeerde plek ingedruk' during the Digitoneel

- Izaan Kotze, Chenél Grundling and Caylin Sadie participated in the ATKV's DigiToneel elimination round. During the elimination round, the production 'Sprokie in Suburbia' received gold, Izaan received gold for her acting, silver for her videography and silver for editing. She was also named as one of the Top 16 entries from across the country. With 'Koffie & Kapsules', Chenél Grundling received silver for her acting, while the production got bronze. Caylin Sadie obtained a certificate for her participation in her piece 'Pelmets van die Siel'
 
- Moshopiadi Nchabeleng won the Thaba Eco Hotel/Park's visual competition.
 
- Kabous de Wet is one of the finalists in the SASOL New Signatures 2024 competition.
 
- Izaan Kotze took part in the final of Pronk Film and Pronk Digitaal
 
- Izaan Kotze and Chenél Grundling participated in the FAK MonUloogfees. Izaan received silver for technical, acting, and production, as well as for cinematography with the piece 'Sprokie in Suburbia' and made it to the Top 6 out of 54 participants. Chenél obtained bronze for acting, technical, cinematography and production with the piece 'Koffie en Kapsules'.
 
- Izaan Kotze participated in ATKV's Digitoneel competition and was named among the Top 8 in the country. Together with her mentor, Liezl de Kock, she attended the filming for the reality series "Gekies vir die Kollig" at the Thaba Eco Hotel in Johannesburg on 19 June.

- During the elimination round, the production 'Blitsverdediging' won bronze, Ellené van der Westhuyzen also won bronze for her acting during this production, with Simone Naude winning silver for her videography. Joné Bronkhorst won gold for her acting in 'Die Oorlog tussen die Son en die Maan', while the production itself also won gold.
