LOSKOP GYMNASIUM brings worlds together

A few small towns in South Africa can boast about a gym that can compete with some of the largest gym chains such as Virgin Active and Planet Fitness. The LOSKOP GYMNASIUM was established with the aim of improving the level of health in the Loskop Valley. The gym is a community project that brings together everyone who lives in the Loskop Valley. The main goal is to become a place where everyone can go to to escape from the daily stress and exhaustion, for fitness, stress relief, rehabilitation, conditioning or even socialization.

Everyone wants to be part of a winning team. Everyone has a craving to belong to something bigger than just himself. That is why most of us drive to Pretoria for a day - to be a part of something we do not get in Groblersdal. Yet we are not unhappy in Groblersdal, we just want the best of both worlds, right? The art is to start with yourself. The moment one begins to give to oneself is the moment the craving begins to disappear. The gymnasium, originally funded by Nampak, Roslé Boerdery and other prominent figures in the community who wanted to place something in the community, boasts top equipment, a heated pool, various classes and highly qualified trainers for every need. There is only one of its kind within a radius of 85 km! The location of the LOSKOP GYMNASIUM is very important. Although the LOSKOP GYMNASIUM was built on the school grounds of Hoërskool Ben Viljoen, it functions an arm's length away. No funds came from the school to build the gym. The LOSKOP GYMNASIUM has set the ball rolling for the community to give of themselves and to make a project work. We all want the amenities of the city here, and we'll have to work to keep it here. Even if you are not an avid gym bunny, pay your membership fee and make it possible for someone else to benefit from the project. If one gives so much of oneself, then you are part of something greater than just yourself. |
