Chess is one of the oldest games in the history of the world.
“Make your move” and play chess, because learners who participate in it show an improvement in concentration ability and creative problem solving, it promotes logical reasoning and is a test of patience, nerves, brain power and concentration.
Our chess team participates annually in the Chess Inter High which is held in the third term.

- Second place at the interhigh with three board winners

- Interhigh: Zaid Bhana finished in 4th place, Malope Malatsi in 6th place and Jadin Klopper in 9th place

- Fourth place during Interhigh

- Overall fourth place with only one point difference between us and Hoërskool Frikkie Meyer, in third place. Congratulations to Thato Mphahlele and Bradley Nhika who were the respective Board 4 and Board 5 winners.

- Finished overall eighth during the NWU Schools Sports Series with both Thato Mathabatha and Thato Mphahlele being board winners
- Finished sixth overall at the Bosveld Interhigh with Tshepang Matsepe and Thato Mphahlele, who were crowned board winners, while Thato Mathabathe secured third place on his board
