The ASA South African Championships kick off tomorrow, 26 March 2026, at the Germiston Stadium in Ekurhuleni. Hoërskool Ben Viljoen’s Daller athletes are ready to showcase their talent on the national stage. With several top athletes competing across multiple events, it promises to be an exciting weekend of athletics.
Day 1 – 26 March 2026
The action starts early with Jaco van der Westhuyzen competing in the u/20 100m heats at 10:55. Later in the day, Kadmiel Lotika lines up for the u/20 400m heats at 13:00. In the field events, Marnu Hancke competes in Round 1 of the u/18 discus at 14:00.
If Jaco progresses, the u/20 100m semi-final takes place at 14:30, followed by the final at 18:45.
Day 2 – 27 March 2026
Day two brings more exciting opportunities. Jaco returns for the u/20 200m heats at 10:25, while Omphile Tshikane competes in the u/20 800m heats at 13:05. The u/18 discus final is scheduled for 13:30.
Kadmiel will aim to progress to the u/20 400m semi-final at 14:25 and potentially the final at 18:25.
Day 3 – 28 March 2026
There is still plenty at stake on the final day. The u/20 200m semi-final is at 12:25, followed by Marnu Hancke in the u/18 shot put final at 15:00. The u/20 800m final takes place at 16:50, and the championships conclude with the u/20 200m final at 17:45.
