Last week, the residents of Huis Cherié Girls’ Hostel and Boomhuis Boys’ Hostel enjoyed a relaxing Bonfire Evening that will definitely be remembered for a long time. With the winter chill slowly settling over the Loskop Valley, the cosy atmosphere around the warm fires was the perfect setting for learners to socialise and share stories.
The evening was filled with laughter, good company and delicious hot chocolate that warmed everyone from the inside out. Learners had the opportunity to forget about all the academic pressure for a while and enjoy the moment with their friends.
With the first big exam of the year approaching, this Bonfire Evening was the ideal way for learners to relax a little before the hard work of studying begins. This evening not only provided relaxation but also created the opportunity to build up new energy and motivation for the challenging exam period ahead.
A big word of thanks and appreciation goes to the grade 12 learners of Huis Cherié and Boomhuis who took on this wonderful initiative and made it possible. Your leadership, enthusiasm and effort in arranging something special for your fellow hostel residents are truly appreciated. These types of events not only strengthen the bonds between learners but also contribute to the unique family atmosphere for which our hostels are known.
We wish all the residents good luck with the exams and trust that this evening has given everyone new courage, focus and inspiration for the hard work that lies ahead.
