Hoërskool Ben Viljoen travelled to Nylstroom this past weekend, where our sports teams competed against Hoërskool Nylstroom. It was a weekend filled with determination, teamwork and true Daller pride, with our learners giving their all on the field.
Our rugby teams competed with great intensity and achieved impressive results. The u/14A team played a strong game to win 19-7, while the u/14B team set the tone with a dominant 55-0 victory. Our u/15A team fought hard, but had to bow the knee 12-31. The u/16A team did excellently with a 31-14 victory, while the u/16B team also won their match 22-12. The 3rd team lost in a tough battle 21-31, and the 2nd team was bogged down 12-36. However, our 1st rugby team ended the day on a high note with an impressive 36-8 victory over Nylstroom.
On the hockey field, our girls’ hockey teams showed excellent play and great discipline. The u/14 team drew 0-0 in a thrilling match. The u/15 team won 2-0, while the u/16 team overwhelmed their opponents 4-0. Our 2nd team achieved an excellent 5-0 victory, and the 1st team won their match 3-0 to end the day successfully.
This weekend’s sport once again proved that Hoërskool Ben Viljoen’s learners participate with pride, perseverance and team spirit. A big word of thanks to every player, coach, supporter and parent who supported the teams. Your hard work and dedication contribute to the strong sporting culture that we, as Dallers, are so proud of.
