We are incredibly proud of Elrie Enslin and Denise van der Walt, who participated in the National Western Mounted Games Championships at the Afridome in Parys during the September school holidays. The championships brought together riders from across South Africa to showcase their skills, speed and teamwork with their horses at national level.
Elrie competed as a Silver Rider in the H4WMGGWMG Level 2 Championships with her horse, Master of Law. Despite the challenging, wet weather conditions, Elrie and her team performed exceptionally well, achieving an overall second place out of the nine provinces. Unfortunately, the weather conditions prevented them from completing all the events.
Elrie’s individual results reflect her talent and determination. She achieved first places in Barrels and Single Stake, a second place in Barrel Race, a seventh place in Speed Ball, an eighth place in Fig 8 Flags and an eleventh place in Pole 1. She also secured an overall third place in her division – an outstanding achievement at national level!
Denise competed as a Gold Rider in the H5WMWMG Level 3 Championships with her horse, Vice President (Shadow). Due to the unfavourable weather conditions, Denise was only able to participate in eight of the twelve events. Nevertheless, her participation in these national championships is a valuable achievement and a testament to her dedication to the sport.
We congratulate Elrie and Denise on their participation in these prestigious championships. Your passion, perseverance and love for the sport makes our Daller family proud
