The South African Bisley Championships took place from 26 September to 1 October 2026 at Hoërskool Sentraal in Bloemfontein, bringing together some of the country’s best young marksmen. With more than 400 participants taking part in the championships, it was a significant and highly competitive event on the national shooting calendar.
For us, it is a privilege to see our Dallers testing themselves at this level against participants from across South Africa. Competing on a national stage requires not only skill, but also dedication, discipline, concentration and hours of preparation. Our three Dallers each proudly took their place among the country’s top young marksmen – and their results speak for themselves.
In the u/16 division, which featured an impressive 113 marksmen, Tiago Fernandes concluded the competition with a score of 1345 out of 1600.
In the u/21 division, which also consisted of 113 marksmen, two of our Daller marksmen showed their skill:
Ané Pretorius achieved an excellent 1402 out of 1600. Ané formed part of the u/21 B Mpumalanga Sporter Class, which achieved an outstanding result by securing silver in the Winning Province u/21 Sporter Class, as well as silver in the Overall Winning Province Sporter Class.
Caylin Sadie concluded the championships with a score of 1367 out of 1600.
We are incredibly proud of each of these marksmen. Their achievements are a testament to the hard work, focus and perseverance required to compete at the highest level.
Although medals, positions and scores form an important part of any championship, they do not tell the whole story. Behind every result are hours of preparation, practice, focus and sacrifice.
Participating in a national championship gives learners the opportunity to further develop their skills, gain valuable experience and test themselves against participants from different provinces. It is precisely these opportunities that help young athletes grow – not only as marksmen, but also as individuals.
For us, it is particularly special to see our learners developing their talents and confidently taking their place on larger sporting stages. The achievements of Tiago, Ané and Caylin are an inspiration to other young Dallers who dream of one day competing at provincial or national level.
No journey to a national championship is possible without the support of an entire community. We would therefore like to extend a sincere word of thanks to every sponsor who made it possible for our marksmen to travel to Bloemfontein and participate in the South African Championships.
Your support means so much more than financial assistance. It allows our learners to develop their talent, pursue their dreams and represent their school and community on the national stage.
To the parents, coaches, supporters and everyone who contributed behind the scenes: thank you for your time, support and belief in our learners. Your role in these achievements should never be underestimated.
