From 2 to 4 October 2026, the Ben Vissers, our boys’ freshwater bank angling team, and the Dallers, our girls’ freshwater bank angling team, proudly participated in the prestigious Champ of Champs Freshwater Bank Angling Competition, held at Bloemhof Dam.
For our anglers, this was a special opportunity to test their skills against some of the best young anglers and to represent Hoërskool Ben Viljoen on a major stage. The competition required three days of focus, perseverance and teamwork.
Our Ben Vissers finished the competition in an excellent overall 13th place, while our Dallers achieved an impressive overall 7th place. These results are a testament to the dedication and hard work of each of our anglers.
This is also the third consecutive year that our teams have participated in this prestigious competition – an exceptional achievement that reflects the growth and development of freshwater bank angling at Hoërskool Ben Viljoen.
But the good news did not end there!
Following the championships, we are incredibly proud to announce that Marthinus Dreyer has been selected for the Limpopo u/19B team, which will compete at the South African Championships.
In addition, Liam Hancke has also been selected for the team as a reserve.
We wish Marthinus and Liam the very best of luck with this incredible opportunity. You are not only representing yourselves, but also the Daller Family and Hoërskool Ben Viljoen.
