Following the exciting Interhouse Swimming Gala, our Grade 8 learners had their annual Grade 8 camp on 16 January 2026 – a special experience that provided the ideal kick-off for their high school career.
The camp focused on team building, character development and the establishment of new friendships. After a day filled with spirit and enthusiasm at the interhouse swimming gala, the learners participated with great excitement in various challenging and fun activities.
These activities were specifically designed to encourage cooperation, trust and perseverance.
The Executive Council, teachers, and camp facilitators guided and supported the learners, while a strong emphasis was also placed on Hoërskool Ben Viljoen’s core values – respect, responsibility, compassion, integrity and loyalty. By the end of the camp, it was clear that the Grade 8's were no longer just individuals, but a close-knit group ready to take their place as full-fledged Dallers.
The Grade 8 camp once again proved how important this opportunity is in establishing a positive, supportive culture and laying the foundation for a successful and meaningful high school experience at Hoërskool Ben Viljoen.
