We kicked off the 2026 swimming season with great excitement and enthusiasm during the annual Interhouse Swimming Gala that took place on 16 January 2026. The gala was a celebration of participation and sportsmanship, and created a festive atmosphere at the swimming pool on Friday morning.
In addition to the competitive items, the fun items provided great entertainment. Learners swam with, among other things, inflatable swimming rings, snorkels and flippers, thereby bringing much laughter and joy to the spectators and participants.
The day also produced excellent achievements, with several new records being set. These achievements are a testament to hard work, dedication and talent. Congratulations to the Windgat Wilde Eende (u/16s) who won the girls' division with their mass participation, while the Awesome Arende (u/17 - u/18s) walked away with the laurels in the boys' division.
