In an uncertain and unstable period in history, the Class of 2025 walked through the gates of Hoërskool Ben Viljoen in 2021 as confused Grade 8 learners - armed with a mask, a bottle of sanitiser, and hearts full of questions. They entered a world that looked very different from the one they had been prepared for: the corridors were quieter, smiles were hidden, and distance became part of the new normal. Yet they walked on - brave, curious, and willing to adapt. That very first step already revealed the kind of matriculants they would one day become.
Today, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to every teacher/educator who was part of this journey right through to the end of 2025. This journey would certainly not have been as manageable without your support and dedication.
Firstly, we are grateful for the foundation laid by parents and primary schools in the lives of the matriculants of 2025. Matric results do not begin in Grade 8 or even in Grade 1, but with parents and families who stimulate and support their children from birth. Play schools that teach and stimulate young children daily to be eager to learn play a vital role. The feeder schools of Hoërskool Ben Viljoen do an excellent job.
These learners’ life journeys were undoubtedly filled with the right signposts, road maps, and a reliable compass for guidance. The foundation and adventures along each learner’s path, together with the hard work and time invested by all involved, collectively form the key to success.
Hoërskool Ben Viljoen is extremely proud of these learners, who bid farewell to their high school careers with a matric pass rate of 96.63%. A total of 112 distinctions were achieved.
Furthermore, 74.78% of our matriculants qualified for admission to degree studies, while 18.48% gained admission to diploma studies.
