Our First Cricket Team delivered an impressive performance on 19 September 2026 when they faced Hoërskool Nylstroom on their home field. The Dallers played with confidence from the start and ultimately secured the match with a 37-run victory.
Hoërskool Nylstroom won the toss and sent us in to bat first, giving our team the opportunity to set a target. Our batters made the most of the opportunity, scoring a strong 227 runs in just 36.1 overs.
The innings was led by an excellent performance from Jaco van der Westhuyzen, who scored an impressive 73 runs off 79 balls. Leeroy Alexander also made an important contribution with a quick 55 runs off just 25 balls, while Ismaeel Patel added 15 runs to the team’s total.
Chasing a target of 228 runs, Hoërskool Nylstroom began their innings, but our bowlers quickly took control of the match. Our bowlers applied consistent pressure and successfully bowled out the home side for 190 runs.
Jac-Johan Gouws was outstanding with the ball, delivering a remarkable bowling performance by taking four wickets for just 27 runs. Limni-Lu Heswick also claimed an impressive four wickets, while Jaco van der Westhuyzen capped off his excellent all-round performance with one wicket.
With both bat and ball, the Dallers showed their depth, talent and determination. The team’s combination of strong batting and disciplined bowling ultimately secured a well-deserved 37-run victory.
