Our sevens rugby teams participated in the Buco Makhonjwa 7’s Tournament at Hoërskool Barberton over the past weekend – and our Dallers certainly made their mark!
Our u/17A team enjoyed an impressive tournament, finishing their pool matches unbeaten. The team defeated Witbank High 25–05, Penryn College 19–10, and Hoërskool Generaal Hertzog 47–00 in succession.
In the quarter-final, the Dallers built on this momentum with a convincing 37–05 victory over Steelcrest High. In the semi-final, they once again faced Penryn College and emerged victorious with a 17–10 win.
The big moment came in the Cup Final, where our Dallers delivered a spectacular performance. With excellent teamwork, attacking rugby and an unstoppable spirit, they defeated Lowveld High 71–00 to be crowned Cup Champions!
Our u/17B team also enjoyed an excellent tournament. The team played six matches, winning four of them. Their hard work and perseverance were rewarded when they were crowned the Shield Champions of the tournament.
The u/15 team also showed exactly what they are capable of. They made a strong start to the tournament with victories of 47–07 against Steelcrest High, 55–00 against Bushwillow Academy, and 42–05 against Hoërskool Patriot.
In the quarter-final, the team continued their excellent form, defeating Bergvlam 38–12. The semi-final was an incredibly close encounter against Lowveld High, with the Dallers unfortunately going down 26–27. In the Plate Final, they fought hard once again but narrowly lost 12–17 to Steelcrest High.
