Our girls’ cricket team showed on 4 September 2026, in a competitive T20 match against Hoërskool Hans Strijdom, that we never give up. Although Hoërskool Hans Strijdom eventually secured a 14-run victory, our girls can be proud of a match in which they fought hard right until the very end.
Hoërskool Hans Strijdom won the toss and elected to bat first. Our bowlers competed well and managed to restrict the opposition to 95/6 in their 20 overs. Liliana Jansen van Rensburg was outstanding with the ball, taking 2 wickets for 15 runs, while Danielle Wessels also claimed 2 wickets for 31 runs. Kamo Shadung and Hope Matsetela each added a wicket.
With the bat, Liliana Jansen van Rensburg once again made an important contribution. She scored an excellent 41 runs off 28 balls, including five fours, to keep our hopes of a successful run chase alive. Izelke Oosthuizen also contributed 9 runs.
Our girls, however, lost their final wicket on 81 runs in 15.5 overs, handing Hoërskool Hans Strijdom a 14-run victory.
Although the result did not go our way, we are incredibly proud of the way our girls competed. Every match provides valuable opportunities to learn, grow and come back stronger.
