KJ Briel, one of our current grade 11 learners, showcased his talent with his participation in ATKV’s DigiToneel with the production, My Skaduwee, written by Inamari.
This production tells the story of Christo, a teenage boy who opens up during a session in a psychologist’s office. At first, he describes a shadow that speaks to him - something that seems like pure imagination. As the narrative progresses, though, this shadow intensifies and becomes highly personal. Soon, it’s clear that the shadow symbolises condemnation and self-doubt. Dominated by this inner voice, Christo must summon strength not only to face it but also to affirm his own value and identity.
KJ received impressive recognition for his participation. He received a silver accolade for his acting, as well as a bronze for editing. The production as a whole was also awarded a silver accolade, which highlights the high quality of the work.
These achievements showcase KJ's dedication, creativity, and growth in the performing arts. Notably, they firmly set him on a promising path toward further development in drama and theatre.
