Hoërskool Ben Viljoen's first boys' hockey team kicked off their league campaign on home soil on 30 April 2026 in a tough and competitive match against Capricorn High School from Polokwane.
Although the final score was 0–1 in favour of the visitors, the team showed character, perseverance and promising potential.
The match was a tense affair from the start, with both teams working hard to take control of the game. Ben Viljoen's players showed good cooperation and defensive discipline, and repeatedly put Capricorn under pressure with well-constructed attacks. However, the home team kept fighting until the final whistle and did not give up.
Although the result was not in their favour, this match provided valuable experience for the rest of the season.
