This past weekend, three of our learners, as well as one of our alumni members, participated in the Limpopo Athletics Championships that took place in Naboomspruit. These championships brought together some of the province’s best athletes, and our athletes delivered outstanding performances.
Jaco van der Westhuyzen delivered exceptionally strong performances and achieved first places in both the 100m and 200m. He covered the 100m in an impressive time of 10.32 seconds and won the 200m with a time of 21.37 seconds.
Omphile Tshikane also performed well on the track and achieved first place in the 800m with a time of 1:58.50.
In the field events, Marnu Hancke delivered excellent performances by achieving first places in both shot put and discus. He recorded a distance of 17.96m in the shot put and a distance of 56.20m with the discus.
Another remarkable achievement came from Kadmiel Lotika, who was part of the class of 2025. He won the 400m with a time of 48.97 seconds.
We are incredibly proud of these athletes who represented the school’s name at the championships, and we wish you all the best in your preparations for the South African Championships, which will take place during the March holidays.
