Today we say goodbye to Mr Bongi Dlamini - an educator, coach and mentor whose legacy will live on at Hoërskool Ben Viljoen for a long time.
Since joining our school on 9 January 2023, Mr Dlamini has not only brought a passion for English to the classrooms, but also an exceptional drive on the rugby field. His influence as a coach has shaped and inspired many young players.
During 2024 and 2025, he was involved as a rugby conditioning coach for the Limpopo Blue Bulls Craven Week team - a testament to his expertise and discipline. His role in this high-performance environment has not only benefited our own players but also the larger Limpopo rugby structures.
At the school, he formed part of the coaching team of the u/14 rugby team's incredible season in 2024, where the team won the NWU series and the Limpopo final. His dedication, time and energy have directly contributed to this remarkable success.
In 2025, he coached the u/15 sevens rugby team, where his players achieved impressive results:
– Bosveld Sevens Bowl winners
– Vallei Uile Sevens Tournament Cup winners
– PHS Blitzfees Cup winners
– Noordvaal Sevens Tournament Bowl winners
These achievements tell the story of a coach who not only wins but cultivates growth. One who not only shapes players, but builds young men with character, perseverance and pride.
Mr Dlamini, we say thank you for every hour, every match and every word of wisdom. Thank you for your humility and unwavering passion for the development of our learners.
May the road ahead bring you many blessings.
