“When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”
These words perfectly describe the impact of Ms Clarissa Kruger, who has been part of Hoërskool Ben Viljoen since 14 January 2025. Ms Kruger taught Afrikaans, and taught learners not only language skills, but also a new perspective on learning and self-confidence.
She also left a great footprint in sport as coach of the first netball team, where she not only guided her players technically and tactically, but also taught them how to work in a team, as well as how to persevere and be dedicated. Under her leadership, the team grew in skill and character, and she taught the players to approach challenges with an open and positive mindset.
Ms Kruger’s time at Ben Viljoen reminds us that true leadership and teaching are not just about the results achieved, but about the wisdom and perspective you allow learners to develop. Her approach has helped learners not only succeed on the netball court and in the classroom but also to see and appreciate their own world from new angles.
Thank you very much, Ms Kruger, for your time, passion and dedication. Your legacy of inspiration and perspective will live on at Ben Viljoen.
