“A teacher sows seeds that no one else can see – until one day they begin to bloom in a child’s life.”
These striking words best describe the contribution of Ms Mariska Joubert. Since she blew like a fresh breeze through the gates of Hoërskool Ben Viljoen in January 2022, she has not only imparted knowledge but also touched hearts and ignited dreams.
As a member of the English Department, Ms Joubert shared her passion for language with dedication and inspired learners to express themselves with confidence. Her classroom was a space where growth, creativity and discovery walked hand in hand. Yet her influence extended far beyond academia.
In the Drama Department, she played a special role and left her mark through her involvement in theatre, revue and the singing team. Her love for the arts was contagious and encouraged many learners to take their place on stage with pride.
Ms Joubert’s presence on the staff was equally noticeable – always willing to step in, support and make a difference with a positive attitude. Her enthusiasm and caring heart made her a valuable colleague and mentor.
Even though we say goodbye now, the seeds she sowed live on in every learner she impacted. Her legacy will long be visible in the confidence, creativity and passion of those who had the privilege of being influenced by her.
Hoërskool Ben Viljoen bids adieu to Ms Mariska Joubert with sincere gratitude and best wishes for the road ahead. May the footprints you left here always remind you of the difference you made.
