Jo-Mari Janse van Rensburg, our ATKV Youth Branch's chairperson, was one of the Top three chairpersons in each region who were invited to the ATKV 'Kultuurkuier' that took place at Goudini Spa last week.
Anzelle de Jager participated in Talent Africa's regional qualifier on 22 July and received three High Silver awards for Hip Hop, Modern Dance, as well as Formal Modeling. She also received her provincial colors and advanced to the National round which takes place in October.
This team played against Hoërskool Frikkie Meyer in the Limpopo final and emerged as winners. With the score tied at 17-all, the game was decided by who scored the first try, which cause Hoërskool Ben Viljoen to end the league as the number 1 team!
Last night, our theater group took part in its first theater festival for the 2023 season. The FAK Allegretto Theater Festival took place at Hoërskool Hugenote in Springs with the production, 180° Celsius, written by Inamari Schoonraad, where they did an amazing job!
During 2021, a project, in collaboration with numerous community members, came into being where 14 uncultivated hectares on our school grounds were transformed into a community farm, with Mr Nelus Potgieter at the helm of affairs.
Die Uile, a group of people who have the same focus: to contribute to the success and progress of Hoërskool Ben Viljoen and remain involved in the school's growth, but still function independently of the school and the school's Governing Body, held a successful street mile, called the 'Uilmyl' on the 1st of July 2023.

The AVS Bokkie Week took place during the school holidays (from 3-7 July) in Kroonstad.
Hoërskool Ben Viljoen's learners represented the respective unions of South-Eastern Transvaal, Far North, Vaal Triangle and BCVO in netball, hockey and rugby. A total of 39 Ben Viljoen learners participated during this week, of which 6 learners were included in the respective National Bokkie Week teams.
The SANESA/SAWMGA's 7th round took place at Winnfield Stables in Polokwane on 15 July 2023.
During the past school holidays, three of our netball players participated as part of the provincial Limpopo teams in two different tournaments where the best from each province competed.
During the holidays, some of our hockey players participated in various provincial hockey tournaments as part of the respective Limpopo teams.
During the weekend of 24 June 2023, Vinette du Plessis participated in the ITFSA South African Taekwon-Do Championships which took place at the Alberton Wrestling Club.
Francisco Patricio represented Limpopo in the u/18B boys hockey team which finished 5th during their tournament.

Time is a strange phenomenon, and no one can deny that it has the tendency to fly. Along with time, there are seasonal changes in human life. At the end of a school term, it often happens that we have to say goodbye to colleagues because a new season arrived in their lives.
Hoërskool Ben Viljoen's Center for Counseling and Remediation is always willing to help where there is need and also likes to plow back into the community. As Mother Teresa put it, it doesn't matter how much we give but with how much love we do it.
